DESIGN EXCELLENCE AWARD
A dramatic stage-set, the space exploits the absence of access to exterior windows and draws the participant in, following the curve of the wall that reaches out into the public space. The details of the room are designed as an 'homage' to the exterior plaza with its desire lines in the paving, tilted, glazed walls and towering light reflectors. The wallmounted glass 'notebook' wittily acts as a transparent whiteboard.

"I had a meeting in the boardroom today. It is fabulous ... my eyes fell upon the wonderful small square

lights that ring the boardroom walls a few feet above the floor. It was a like a breath of fresh air on the brain. The acoustics and wall features are wonderful. And the carpet is a real treat." Dr Heather Dawkins, Associate Dean, Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, Simon Fraser University.
