The mastheads for 'The Vancouver Sun' and 'Province' newspapers had recently been redesigned and Pacific Press retained ravendesign.ca to implement their new graphics as tower top signage, to coincide with the organization's headquarters move to Granville Square. Francis Donaldson's excellent 1973 high-rise tower's refined design made it important to ensure that the new signs were sympathetic to the building architecture. At the time this was largest exterior signage and branding project in Vancouver. ravendesign.ca's designers worked closely with the client and the City of Vancouver to

ensure a mutually agreed balance between commercial and municipal objectives. "Great service - extremely responsive" Alexis Cylwa, Pacific Press

A special coating was deployed to achieve the design, allowing the 3 metre tall lettering for the tower top signs to appear dark brown by day, and illuminate bright white at night. The project also included street-level identification and direction signage.
