Opened in 2004, this project at SFU's main campus in Burnaby accommodates 750 students in single rooms arranged in three 8 storey buildings arranged along a concourse spine. The top floor of one building provides "hotel" rooms for visiting professors, lecturers and university guests. The dining hall links the buildings to existing campus walkways and the complex also contains housing services offices and meeting rooms. Starting with developing a logical room numbering

system for the 154,000 square foot complex, ravendesign.ca designed and coordinated the exterior identification and interior signage programs for SFU's Student Services group. The signage budget was modest and so the design solution focused on creating a easily-producible, lively collage of graphic images over which sign messages were placed.
