Everything about IMAX is superscaled. The cinema's five-storey high screen displays 70mm film; the largest commercial film ever invented, it is 10 times larger than the 35mm used in regular theatres and produces images of incredible sharpness.

Positioned at the north end of Vancouver's landmark pier Canada Place, the cinema is located in the circular structure facing the harbour and north shore mountains and was originally built for the Canadian Pavilion at Expo 86. To increase public awareness of their property and attract attention to their

tenant, Canada Place Corp approached ravendesign.ca to assist them in providing CN IMAX with a new branding and signage concept for the unique entertainment facility.

As part of their commission to develop new signage and way-finding throughout Canada Place, ravendesign.ca explored and developed a series of design options for the cinema, integrating a new CN IMAX stylized logo with site-specific graphics.
