DESIGN EXCELLENCE AWARD
A state of the art teaching facility, the lecture theatre at SFU's Surrey campus is also used for community events, public lectures and debates. From the undulating stainless steel ceiling panels to the witty projection booth, meticulous attention to millwork and details resulted in the successful integration of numerous technical systems within a visually arresting and user-friendly space. control multiple lighting scenes and all the audio/visual devices. Conceived as a floating red box, the console is supported by structural glazing on three sides giving the appearance of hovering above the floor.
