This adaptive re-use project involved changing office space into a teaching and research facility for SFU. From the inception of the project, ravendesign.ca assisted the University with the space needs analysis, establishing the functional program and balancing the needs of each of the user groups within the parameters of the existing floor plate. One of the key spaces is the 62-seat, semi-circular, tiered Policy Room designed for lectures and debate. This room provides computer connections for every student, and sophisticated a/v presentation system, along with video-conferencing and the capacity

for wireless communications. "Given a ... modest budget, Raven transformed (the) space to meet the needs of a number of high technology research units and teaching programs. The result has been very well received by faculty and staff and has garnered praise from many distinguished visitors to the TIME Centre." Dr Warren Gill, VP External Relations, Simon Fraser University.
